Beautifully Hand Painted Nippon Moustache/Mustache Mug in a avocado colored base with pink, magenta, yellow, flowers on the mug face and a single bud and leaves on the back. Raised ceramic swirls throughout the mug with a gold scalloped trim and a delicate ornate handle. The ledge has a half moon-shaped opening to allow the passage of liquids and serves as a guard to keep moustaches dry. It is generally determined these mugs were invented in the 1860s. Nippon trademark on the bottom. Stands 3 1/2" tall and 4" across the lip.
